It’s popular opinion that at the expire of hundred, or at least only fifty years, they should be remembered with the most updated criteria of literature, facts and protagonists that left a sign in a territory history: better as well if that sign is absolutely not dead, instead is already able to give results. It’s the case of the Salò Athenaeum, secular cultural benacense association that – even if it was founded in the Napoleonic age – inherited the secular tradition and the important library heritage of the Sixteenth-century Accademia degli Unanimi. In 2014 it had been decided to give rise to the celebrations of 450 years of this Institution that was founded in 1564. In this volume are collected the Conference Acts related to these themes: The Garda and the arts; history, artists and monuments; Music and musicians on the Garda; The Garda and the cinema between past and present.
