24 Ore Cultura publishes the catalogue of the exhibition Alfons Mucha and the Art Nouveau atmosphere, hosted in the rooms of Palazzo Reale in Milan from 10th December 2015 to 20th March 2016 and at Palazzo Ducale in Genoa from the end of April to September 2016. The Czech artist Alfons Mucha is considered by one of the biggest interpreters of Art Nouveau. In the years between the end of Nineteenth century and the beginning of WWI, he created an elegant and recognisable style that deeply influenced the perception and the artistic languages of his time in various ambits, from graphic to advertisement, from theatre to decorative arts. His elegant and ornamental style, dedicated to the glorification of beauty and youth, characterized by feminine heavenly figures and floral precious decors, made him eternal symbol of the Belle Époque. The catalogue and the exhibition recall Alfons Mucha’s artistic production, but they also want to give the idea of the artistic overview of fin de siècle, when he had been undisputed protagonist. With his 150 illustrations, the catalogue presents as a complete analysis of an innovative artistic period that is still one of the most fascinating of European art history.
